Online Slots Glossary: Every Term Malaysian Beginners Need to Know

This glossary explains the slot and Pirate777 words a Malaysian beginner meets first, and what each one looks like on Pirate777. The short version: a game’s RTP is printed on its lobby tile wherever the studio publishes one, and most titles show 96% or 97%. A coin is RM1. The blue gem is XP, which counts toward your rank and is not money. The smallest deposit is RM10 by DuitNow QR, FPX or reload PIN (RM30 on e-wallets and manual bank transfer), and withdrawals go by DuitNow bank transfer from RM50.

What Do the Basic Slot Terms Mean?

These words mean the same thing on most slot sites. Where Pirate777 shows or does something specific, it is added after the definition.

RNG (Random Number Generator)

The RNG is the software inside a game that picks each spin’s result at random, so no spin depends on the ones before it. Some studios have their RNG tested by an independent lab: Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) tested Fa Chai’s, for example, and its certificate 573 is valid until the end of February 2027. A lab certificate covers the studio’s game software, not the site you play on.

Lab Certificate and Studio Licence

A lab certificate says an independent lab tested a studio’s game software or RNG; a licence or listing on a regulator’s public register belongs to the studio. Neither is about the site you play on. Among our studios, Pragmatic Play and Playtech are on the UK Gambling Commission’s public register (accounts 56015 and 38516), as is Games Global, the company behind Microgaming titles (58841). PG Soft holds Malta Gaming Authority licence MGA/B2B/435/2017, and Jili and PlayStar appear on PAGCOR’s approved-games lists. Fa Chai has GLI certificate 573 for its RNG, and most YGR and Fa Chai titles appear on PAGCOR lists too. For the other studios we found no public record to point you to, so we claim none. RTP (Return to Player)

RTP is the share of all money bet on a game that the game is designed to pay back over a very long run of spins. A 96% RTP means about RM96 back for every RM100 bet across millions of spins; it says nothing about what happens in your own session.

On Pirate777 the RTP is printed on the game’s lobby tile, before you open it, wherever the studio publishes one. On our 5 August 2026 library read, most titles show 96% or 97%, a few sit lower (down to 90%) or higher (up to 99%), and Mega888, 918Kiss and Cosmo Play publish no RTP at all. The second percentage on a tile is the lobby rating, not an RTP.

Volatility (Variance)

Volatility describes how a game’s wins are spread out: a high-volatility game pays less often but can pay more when it does, and a low-volatility game pays smaller amounts more often. Some studios publish a rating for each title on their own game pages. YGR rates 100x Diamond 7 high, and Fa Chai rates Fortune Koi low. Where a studio publishes no rating, nobody can give you one.

Paylines and Ways to Win

Paylines are the fixed patterns across the reels where matching symbols must land to win. Traditional slots might have 20–25 paylines. “Ways” games pay matching symbols on neighbouring reels in any position instead: Fa Chai’s Chinese New Year uses 243 ways, other games 1,024, and Megaways games change the count every spin (YGR’s Mahjong God goes up to 32,400 ways).

Scatter Symbols and Free Spins

A scatter pays or triggers a feature wherever it lands, not only on a payline. The rule is set per game: in Pragmatic Play’s Sweet Bonanza, four to six scatters trigger 10 free spins, and in YGR’s Mahjong God, four scatters do the same. Free spins are spins the game plays for you at no extra stake.

Wild Symbols

A wild stands in for other symbols to complete a winning line. Some wilds expand to cover a reel and some carry a multiplier; each game’s rules page says which.

Multipliers and Max Win

A multiplier multiplies a win: Sweet Bonanza’s multiplier symbols are worth 2x to 100x, according to Pragmatic Play’s game page. Max win is the most a game can pay on one spin, stated as a multiple of your bet by the studio: Fa Chai lists 12,000X for Chinese New Year. It is a ceiling, not a likely result.

Bet Size

Your bet is what one spin costs. Pirate777’s lobby lists a RM0.10 minimum bet for most studios and RM0.20 for Playtech (lobby read, 8 September 2026); each game then sets its own bet steps.

Try Free (Demo)

Try Free is the button on a game’s start screen that opens the studio’s own free demo, played with pretend credit. On Pirate777, Pragmatic Play, Apollo and some Playtech games have it once you’re logged in. The other studios’ games have none, so every spin on them is a real bet: the low-risk way to learn one is to check its RTP on the lobby tile and play a RM10 deposit at the minimum bet.

What Are Coins and XP on Pirate777?

A coin is one ringgit, and XP is progress toward your rank. The app pays rewards in both, and only coins are money.

Coins

“Coins” is Pirate777’s pirate-themed name for ringgit: 1 coin = RM1. The deposit screen offers coin packages that credit one for one, and task, challenge and bounty rewards paid in coins join your balance and can be withdrawn like any other money.

XP (the Blue Gem)

XP (experience points) is shown in the app with a blue gem icon. It has no ringgit value and cannot be spent or withdrawn; it only moves you up the ranks. A new account starts at Civilian and reaches Cadet at 200 XP. The gem is not a currency, whatever a reward card looks like.

Rolling

Rolling is the total of all your bets. Bet RM1 a spin for 100 spins and your rolling is RM100, whether you won or lost. Tasks and rebates are counted on rolling: the daily task, for example, pays RM3 plus 10 XP once your rolling reaches RM150. Play on Mega888 and 918Kiss games does not count toward promotional rolling, rebates or bounty events; the app prints this on the Wallet screen and on every task card.

Single Wallet

One balance plays every studio in the lobby, so you never move money between game providers. The Mega888 and 918Kiss apps spend from the same wallet too.

Team Play

Team Play is Pirate777’s recruitment feature: you invite friends with your code, link or QR under Recruit comrades on the Challenge tab. When 1, 3, 5 and 10 of the friends you recruited reach Rank 2, you collect RM5, RM20, RM50 and RM100 in coins plus 10, 100, 180 and 300 XP. After that, Friends Rolling pays you a small percentage of those friends’ rolling. There is no team-size limit and nothing is pooled: every task and reward stays individual. Captain’s Support

Captain’s Support is Pirate777’s 24/7 customer-service team, reachable by Live Chat and Telegram. It handles deposit and withdrawal questions, account changes, and responsible-gaming requests such as deposit limits.

Ranks

Pirate777 has 30 ranks, from Civilian to King Of The Seas, which is what other sites call a VIP programme. XP moves you up, and each rank sets five things you can read on your Wallet screen: your rebate, your Friends Rolling rate, your bounty-recruitment count, your withdrawals a day and your daily withdrawal cap. At Civilian that is a 0.5% rebate, 0.3% Friends Rolling, 3 withdrawals and RM10,000 a day; at King Of The Seas it is 1.2%, 0.5%, 8 withdrawals and RM300,000 a day. What Do the Deposit and Withdrawal Words Mean?

How much you can deposit depends on the method, and withdrawals have one route: DuitNow bank transfer. Our minimum deposit and withdrawal guide sets out the limits method by method.

Minimum Deposit

The minimum deposit is the smallest amount a method accepts. On Pirate777 it is RM10 by DuitNow QR, FPX or Telco + TNG Reload, and RM30 by Touch ’n Go, GrabPay, ShopeePay or manual bank transfer. The cashier hides any method whose band does not fit the amount you type, so a RM10 deposit shows only the RM10 methods. Withdrawals start at RM50, so a RM10 balance has to grow to five times its size before any of it can be withdrawn.

First-Deposit Bonus

Pirate777’s first-deposit bonus matches a RM30 first deposit with RM30 in coins plus 30 XP. The offer’s terms set a RM180 minimum and a RM300 maximum for withdrawing it, and Mega888 is not eligible. A RM10 first deposit does not qualify; the details are in our Bonus Terms.

DuitNow

DuitNow is Malaysia’s national real-time payment network, run by PayNet. On Pirate777 it works two ways: DuitNow QR for deposits (RM10 to RM30,000, with Boost and Maybank QR Pay paid through the same QR window), and DuitNow bank transfer for every withdrawal.

FPX

FPX is Malaysia’s online-banking checkout: you pick your bank on the checkout page and approve the payment in your own banking app or site. Pirate777 accepts FPX deposits from RM10 to RM10,000.

E-Wallets

Touch ’n Go, GrabPay and ShopeePay take deposits from RM30 to RM5,000 each. E-wallet withdrawals are temporarily unavailable as of 26 August 2026, so winnings go to your bank account.

Telco and TNG Reload PIN

Deposits by reload PIN run from RM10 to RM5,000. A reload PIN is a prepaid top-up code for a phone line or for Touch ’n Go, and it is credited below face value (on the 8 September 2026 read, a RM100 telco PIN credited RM72.50 and a RM100 TNG reload PIN RM89). Telco PIN deposits (U Mobile, Celcom, Digi, Hotlink) earn a 5% bonus with no turnover requirement, which you claim from Captain’s Support within 24 hours; it cannot be combined with another deposit bonus.

Withdrawal

A withdrawal moves your winnings to a bank account in your own name by DuitNow bank transfer. Each withdrawal is RM50 to RM100,000, and Pirate777 charges no withdrawal fee. At Civilian you can make 3 withdrawals and take out up to RM10,000 a day; both rise with rank. Our withdrawal guide explains approval, timing and what to do if a payout is late.

Identity Check

Your identity is checked during your first withdrawal, through Captain’s Support. Our Terms allow a further check on a single withdrawal above RM5,000, or above RM20,000 withdrawn in 30 days.

How Do Tasks and Rewards Work?

Tasks pay coins and XP for reaching a rolling target, and most of them also ask you to finish other tasks first. These are the task rewards read in the app on 8 September 2026:

Bounty Tasks

Bounty tasks sit on the Bounty tab. Each card shows a buy-in (RM5, RM10 and RM30 have been seen), a target such as a profit or a total of valid bets, a time window, and a reward shown as “Rank×” a number plus XP. The menu changes daily and resets at midnight. Completing 5 bounty tasks also pays the Bounty Recruitment reward of RM5 plus 10 XP. Mega888 and 918Kiss games do not take part in bounty events.

Growth Quests

Growth Quests are one-time steps for a new account, found on the Challenge tab: Register Gift 100 XP, Bank Account Details 20 XP, First Deposit 80 XP, Place a Bet Once 10 XP, and Complete All Quests RM10. That is 210 XP and RM10 in all, and the first-deposit step brings you to 200 XP, which is Cadet.

Deposit Streak

The deposit streak on the Challenge tab counts the days you make a deposit, up to 84: day 2 pays RM5 plus 5 XP, day 7 RM10 plus 100 XP, day 30 RM30 plus 300 XP, and day 45 RM100 plus 600 XP. It is a standing offer, and any change is announced before it applies.

Which Safety Terms Should You Know?

SSL Encryption

SSL (or TLS) encrypts what travels between your device and the site. Pirate777 uses 256-bit SSL encryption on account and payment data, and the site redirects http addresses to https.

Browser Play

Browser play means the game runs in your phone or computer browser with nothing to install. Every studio on Pirate777 runs in the browser except Mega888, which is app-only (Android, iPhone 5s and newer, and Windows). 918Kiss runs in the browser as “918Kiss H5” and also has apps. Responsible-gaming tools let you limit or pause your play. What Do Turnover, Rebate, Credit and Cashout Mean?

Turnover

Turnover is the Malaysian word most sites use for rolling: the total of your bets. It also appears in deposit rules: our Terms ask for each deposit to be bet once before it is withdrawn (an anti-money-laundering rule), and winnings need no further turnover.

Rebate

A rebate pays back a small percentage of your own rolling, whether you won or lost. On Pirate777 it is 0.5% at Civilian and rises with rank to 1.2%; you claim it in the Wallet with the GET button, and after a level-up the new rate applies from the next day. Play on Mega888 and 918Kiss games earns no rebate.

Credit

Credit means money added to your balance, or the balance itself. In our own records (February 2025 to January 2026), deposits credited in 30–60 seconds by DuitNow QR, 1–3 minutes by Touch ’n Go, 2–4 minutes by GrabPay and 2–6 minutes by ShopeePay.

Cashout

Cashout is another word for a withdrawal. On Pirate777 every cashout goes by DuitNow bank transfer, from RM50.
